RENX: BGO Cold Chain, Stonemont open first Cdn. cold-storage facility

A state-of-the-art cold storage facility is under construction in Oshawa, Ontario, with the goal of supplying McDonald’s restaurants across Eastern Canada. The 117,000-square-foot building is being developed by RFA Cold Logistics and is strategically located near Highway 401 to facilitate efficient transportation and distribution. Designed to handle high-volume frozen food logistics, the facility will feature advanced refrigeration systems and environmentally sustainable practices. It will also support the supply chain operations of Martin Brower, McDonald’s primary distributor.
Set to open in late 2025, the project underscores growing demand for cold storage infrastructure in Canada, driven by increasing foodservice and grocery requirements. It also represents a significant investment in Oshawa’s industrial landscape and is expected to create local employment opportunities. The facility’s proximity to major transportation corridors reinforces its role as a key logistics hub for national foodservice distribution.
