BGO Strategic Capital Partners has invested in real estate secondaries since its inception in 2002, navigating diverse economic and market conditions over multiple cycles. In 2014, BGO SCP launched its first dedicated secondaries fund, MREP Secondaries Fund, in response to the growing market opportunity for real estate secondaries. Its successor MREP Secondaries Fund II held a final closing in Q4 2018. Secondaries are also offered through separately managed accounts.
Our investment strategy encompasses both traditional secondaries, in which we purchase limited partner interests in funds, and GP-led recaps of individual assets or portfolios. This flexibility gives us a variety of ways to create liquidity and capital solutions for the existing investors in real estate deals. We look for attractive entry points into assets fitting our global investment themes and the opportunity to partner with strong GPs on their business plans moving forward.

In 2014, BGO SCP launched its first – and the market’s first – dedicated co-investments fund, MREP Co-Investments Fund, to provide investors with more targeted access to global co-investment opportunities. Successor MREP Co-Investments Fund II reached its final closing in Q2 2020. Co-Investments are also offered through separately managed accounts.

This flexibility allows us to serve as a capital solution for managers seeking to acquire assets requiring excess capital sources, accelerated closing timelines, and fund concentration management.
