BentallGreenOak Appoints Abbe Franchot Borok to Lead the Firm’s Debt Business in the U.S.
New York (May 26, 2021) — BentallGreenOak (BGO) announced today the appointment of Abbe Franchot Borok to Managing Director and Head of U.S. Debt. In her role, Borok is responsible for BGO’s U.S. Debt Business, including management of all core, core-plus and high-yield debt strategies. She will also lead the management and business development activities for the U.S. Debt business.
Borok brings more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate capital markets and investment management to this role. Most recently, she was managing director and head of CRE & Debt Strategies at The Amherst Group where she launched and managed two CRE debt investment vehicles and oversaw capital markets activity across Amherst’s debt and equity businesses. Prior to joining Amherst Capital, Borok was a senior member of the New York City-based commercial real estate lending team at CapitalSource, a division of Pacific Western Bank. Throughout her career, she has gained broad experience sourcing and underwriting commercial real estate debt, with a focus on high-yield loans backing transitional or value-add business plans.

Borok holds an MBA from Columbia University and a BA in communications from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Board of Governors of CRE Finance Council (CREFC), most recently serving as co-Chair of the High Yield & Distressed Realty Assets (HYDRA) Forum. Committed to promoting and supporting other women in commercial real estate, Borok also serves on the mentorship committee for the New York Women Executives in Real Estate’s WX. She also frequently serves as a speaker and panel participant at industry events.
