BentallGreenOak to debut cultural program at 685 Third Ave. with solo exhibition by NYC artist Reisha Perlmutter in early 2023

Produced by DK Johnston, the program will feature exhibitions, films, and receptions for artists exhibiting work in the Class A, 650,000+ sq ft midtown office tower

New York (October 6, 2022) — BentallGreenOak’s (BGO) redesigned lobby at 685 Third Avenue in Manhattan, NY, will feature a new cultural program for the benefit of the tenants, neighbors, and guests of the building in early 2023. This program will debut with a series of solo exhibitions by six artists, all working in unique mediums, each with a novel approach to connecting with their audiences. BGO’s focus on social connection to diverse communities is the inspiration behind this activation, produced by DK Johnston.

The first artist to be featured in the program will be Reisha Perlmutter. Perlmutter’s work is best known for representational imagery of women in water, where she explores the unencumbered relationship between body and nature and expanding conventional beauty norms. A short film of Perlmutter’s work and the stories behind the women she paints will also be screened as part of the exhibition.

“Our vision for this program is to transform our redesigned lobby into an inclusive space that sets the stage for inspired conversations and creative exploration for our tenants, guests, and patrons. Reisha Perlmutter’s work is a great fit for this vision and her work beautifully sets the tone for our first of six exhibitions. I personally admire her ecological focus and the perseverance of the female form that comes through in all of her work,” said Mariana Circiumaru, Managing Director, and Head of U.S. Construction for BentallGreenOak, who dually serves as the producer of the cultural program at 685 Third Avenue.

The premier of Perlmutter’s work and an artist’s reception will coincide with the completion of the building’s redesigned lobby, led by renowned NYC architecture firm, MdeAS, in early 2023.

The overall cultural program is being produced by DK Johnston, who founded Arts Fund in San Francisco in 2007 and created industry benchmarks in cultural programming at a number of leading companies.
