Flagship Vancouver office tower, B6, receives prestigious WELL Core Platinum certification

Vancouver (February 09, 2026) – BGO, a leading global real estate investment manager and provider of real estate services, today announced that it has been recognized with a WELL Core Certification at the Platinum level for its B6 Office Tower by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI). The prestigious distinction was awarded through IWBI’s WELL v2, the latest version of the WELL Building Standard. WELL is a performance-based certification system that combines best practices in design and construction with evidence-based scientific research to enhance human health and well-being.

Located in the heart of Vancouver’s central business district, B6 is a 32-storey, 534,000 square foot office tower co-owned by the BGO Prime Canadian Property Fund, and one of Canada’s largest pension funds, OPTrust. Completed in 2023 and developed by BGO’s in-house capabilities, B6 redefines the modern workplace by embedding sustainability and innovation into an environment designed to support well-being, collaboration, and long-term impact.

“This milestone reflects the collective effort behind B6,” said Kevin Soltani, General Manager, BGO. “Achieving WELL Platinum at this scale, making B6 the largest Platinum-certified office building in Vancouver and among the first of its kind in Canada, underscores our commitment to creating modern, efficient workplaces that benefit tenants, visitors, and the wider community.”

B6 earned the Platinum-level rating based on performance across 10 categories: Air, Water, Light, Nourishment, Movement, Thermal Comfort, Sound, Materials, Mind and Community. A range of design, amenity, and operational features distinguish the building, which include advanced indoor air quality solutions; access to expansive views and proximity to local parks and the Burrard Inlet; virtually column-free design; convenient access to public transit; and open, modern amenity spaces designed to maximize natural light and greenery.

“BGO’s achievement of WELL Core Certification at the Platinum level for B6 sets a powerful example for the industry,” said Olesy Alekseev, Vice President and Canada Country Lead, IWBI. “By prioritizing health at the core of the building, BGO is raising the benchmark for how real estate can support people’s well-being through design, operations and performance. This milestone underscores the growing leadership we’re seeing across Canada in delivering buildings that put health first.”

B6 incorporates environmentally responsible design elements such as triple-glazed windows, a rainwater harvesting system, a green roof, low-flow water fixtures, fully equipped end-of-trip facilities, and extensive electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

B6 earned WELL Core Certified Platinum following a robust, third party verified evaluation process designed to measure performance against the highest WELL standards.
