Toronto (December 15, 2023) – BGO Properties, the real estate property management and leasing services line of business for BGO in Canada, announced today that for the second straight year, it has exceeded its fundraising target with a donation of more than $120,000 CAD to Kids Help Phone (KHP) across its national portfolio of office, industrial, retail, and multifamily residential properties. The donation was made possible by the graciousness of BGO Properties’ clients, tenants, and team members, in support of KHP programs and services, including support for newcomers to Canada.
As part of BGO Properties’ continuing commitment to Kids Help Phone, the firm’s 62+ million square feet of real estate assets property managed will have the opportunity to participate in awareness campaigns aimed at expanding access and understanding of Kids Help Phone’s services. Programming and tenant/resident engagement initiatives will further extend the reach of Kids Help Phone’s outreach efforts to assist with their mandate in communities across Canada, which includes a focus on awareness among trusted adults.
“Our partnership with Kids Help Phone in 2023/2024 will help to create new access points for young people from a vast diversity of backgrounds, in languages that are native to them. BGO Properties’ tenant communities across Canada also represent a rich tapestry of cultures and ethnicities and we are proud to align the properties we manage in support of mental health programming that looks at care for young people in distress through a diverse lens,” said Scott Gannon, Managing Director, Business Operations, BGO.
“It is critical that young newcomers to Canada have a safe and trusted place to feel out loud. To ensure they do, BGO Properties’ generous donation will support programs and services that reflect the diversity of young people in Canada. Our partnership with BGO Properties helps Kids Help Phone to ensure that young people, no matter how they identify, have a safe space and access to culturally relevant e-mental health services when and how they need it most,” said Jenny Yuen, Senior Vice President, National Partnerships & Government Relations.
Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only free, 24/7, multilingual e-mental health service for young people from coast to coast to coast. KHP provides young people in every corner of Canada with access to the e-mental health care services they need, no challenge too big or small.
